Weekly Lottery Rules

  1. The cost of each entry is £1. Players may purchase more than one entry for each weekly draw and can enter up to 5 entries in the draw each week, payment must be in advance. Payment for Lottery Tickets can be made by debit/credit card, Direct Debit or cheque.

  2. This lottery is open to residents of Mainland Great Britain but excludes Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, HRI employees and third parties directly involved in the administration or management

  3. No ticket/chance can be sold to, on behalf of, or for a person under the age of 18 years. If a ticket is sold unknowingly to, on behalf of, or for a person under the age of 18 they will be refunded, exempt from the lottery and will forfeit their prize.

  4. Monies raised by this lottery will support the general work of The Heart Research Institute (UK), Registered Charity number 1116918 (England and Wales) and SC042984 (Scotland).

  5. The Heart Research Institute (UK) is not responsible for any delays in bank payments. No liability is accepted for loss, theft or delayed receipt of any communication sent by post.

  6. Lottery number(s) will be confirmed by post within 21 days. No ticket will be supplied.

  7. Full payment for each entry must be received in clear funds before the entry can be entered into the draw. Only entries for which full payment has been received are eligible to win a prize and does not guarantee that they will win a prize.

  8. The weekly draw will be conducted every Friday. The draw will be conducted by a random number generator. In the event of a draw day falling on a public holiday or in cases of severe technical disruption, the draw will take place on the first available working day.

  9. The winning numbers and prizes will be published here and will be available from the Weekly Lottery Helpline on 01628 201284. Results will be available from the Monday following the draw. 

  10. The result of lottery draw is final and no correspondence will be entered into. There are no alternatives to any prize, and no interest will be payable. The winners of the Lottery Prizes will be notified by post and a cheque sent within 14 days. 

  11. Any Prize cheques which remain uncashed 6 months after the date of issue will be considered a donation to the charity.

  12. By accepting a prize, the winner agrees to take part in promotional activity and the charity reserves the right to use the name and location of the winner, and their photograph, in any publicity. 

  13. All participants are solely responsible for providing and (where necessary) updating HRI with their accurate and up-to-date contact details and HRI will be in no way liable for any failure or inability to contact any participant due to errors, omissions or inaccuracies in the contact details that the participant has provided. 

  14. The Heart Research Institute (UK) or its External Lottery Manager may (without giving any reason or notice) decline to accept an application, cancel an existing subscription or terminate or suspend the lottery scheme. Heart Research Institute (UK) or its External Lottery Manager’s decisions made pursuant to the rules shall, once made, be final and binding. 

  15. The rules are subject to change by Heart Research Institute (UK) or its External Lottery Manager.

Direct Debit Guarantee

  1. This Guarantee is offered by all banks and building societies that accept instructions to pay Direct Debits.

  2. If there are any changes to the amount, date or frequency of your Direct Debit The Heart Research Institute (UK) will notify you 10 working days in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise agreed. If you request The Heart Research Institute (UK) to collect a payment, confirmation of the amount and date will be given to you at the time of the request.

  3. If an error is made in the payment of your Direct Debit, by The Heart Research Institute (UK) or your bank or building society you are entitled to a full and immediate refund of the amount paid from your bank or building society. If you receive a refund you are not entitled to, you must pay it back when The Heart Research Institute (UK) asks you to.

  4. You can cancel a Direct Debit at any time by simply contacting your bank or building society. Written confirmation may be required. Please also notify us.
